Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone! I'm thrilled to share some exciting news... I've joined the Creatalicious Challenges design team! Woo-hoo! So excited - this team is made up of some really talented ladies from all over the world! I'm happy to share my debut project for Challenge #98 - Anything Goes with optional Anniversary! We're being sponsored this time by Simon Says Stamp, so come on over and play! I created an anniversary card featuring a bold floral background with an assortment of paper flowers and a stamped sentiment on a hand-cut fishtail flag. The front flap of the card base is cut about 3/4" shorter than the back flap. I'm really happy with how this turned out. :)

I decided on a red, black and white color combo which I think is very romantic and perfect for an anniversary card. I layered a pretty floral print vellum over a bold polka dot print which I layered on thick foam and then onto red and black cardstock layers.

I kept the inside fairly simple with a stamped sentiment on the white panel which I embellished with strips of the polka dot paper and black cardstock from the front, then layered the entire panel on the red cardstock.

Proud to enter this anniversary card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler cardstock, Marco's Black cardstock, GKD Pure Luxury White cardstock scrap, Stampin' Up! Regals Designer Series Paper Stack, Stampin' Up! Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack
  • Stamps: Leave Memories With One Stamp
  • Ink: Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler ink
  • Dies/Punches:
  • Accessories: Black Commotion Almost Leather, Assorted WOC flowers, MISTI

I hope you've enjoyed today's project and are inspired to play with us in our Anything Goes challenge - and we'd love to see you challenge your creativity with the optional twist of Anniversary! Be sure to check out Simon Says Stamp - I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you'll find something you just can't live without! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

As you hop, leave comments on all the blogs! The more comments you leave, the more chances you have to win those amazing Pink Gem Designs images! Okay, let me sidetrack for a moment to share my Happy New Year card! I chose to play with the absolutely adorable but feisty little lady, Cocktail Molly! And no, lol, it's not too early to be thinking 'new year'... it'll be here before we know it!

I chose several coordinating papers from a vintage paper pack that I thought went real well with Molly! Of course, I used some of my favorite stitched dies and added my signature big bow. And I paired this fun image with a couple fun sentiments.

I decorated the inside with a layered leftover floral strip used on the front. I distressed all the elements on the front and the inside with distress ink. These vintage papers just scream 'little old lady' - can't you smell the rose perfume?! OMG, love it!

I'm happy to enter sweet Molly into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White and Cranberry Tart cardstock, Bazzill Basics Vintage Marketplace 6x6 papers

it's all about you

Hi everyone! Happy middle of August! I'm SO ready for some cool, crisp fall weather! It's time for another fun challenge over at the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I'm stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #84 - Anything Goes! We're being sponsored this time by Lawn Fawn, Heartfelt Creations and Julia Spiri Digital Stamps! Come play with us!

I chose the absolutely gorgeous 'The Flower Girl' digi from Julia Spiri and what fun she was to color! I went with one of my favorite color combos of green and purple for my girl card. I used two coordinating patterned papers layered on purple cardstock. I paired the digital image with sentiments that could be used for a variety of occasions.

I used my fairly new Spectrum Aqua markers (without water) for the small flowers because they have a fine point end and are much easier to use in small spaces. First time I've used the Aquas and I think I'm gonna like them! I dug through my ribbon stash and found some rockin' purple and green plaid ribbon which I thought went really well with the papers. I'm really loving sequins these days so I added a few of them too! ;)

I stamped the inside sentiment on a plain panel which I decorated with leftover scraps of the striped paper and purple cardstock from the front.

Happy to enter this card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Fresh Asparagus and Wild Orchid cardstock, Stampin' Up! Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz cardstock, Stampin' Up! Painted Blooms DSP
  • Stamps: Julia Spiri 'The Flower Girl' digital image, Stampin' Up! Endless Birthday Wishes
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir- LY2, LY3, DG2, CG1, FS2, FS3, FS6, BP2, BP6; Spectrum Aqua- Bud Green, Wildflower, Heather, Rose Pink, Blossom
  • Dies/Punches: Memory Box Stithced Oval Layers dies
  • Accessories: MISTI, Studios Blackbird ribbon, Doodlebug Design purple sequins

I hope you've enjoyed this project and have found a little inspiration to play in our Anything Goes challenge this time! We know you love those! And be sure to check out all the fun stamps and paper at Lawn Fawn and Heartfelt Creations, and the awesome digital images at Julia Spiri Digital Stamps! dude

Hi everyone! I'm certainly not complaining, but this week has literally flown by! I almost feel like I've somehow lost a couple days, lol! It's time for another fun challenge over at Crafty Friends Challenge Blog and I'm so stoked to shared my DT inspiration project for Challenge #38 - Anything Goes. Come on over and play with us! I think you'll agree that we have some pretty awesome sponsors this time:

Woot-woot! How about that?! ;) I chose the super cool KennyK Stamps 'Frankie Knuckles' image from my stash for my any occasion guy card. I L.O.V.E. this image and what fun this was to color!

Papers and embellishments were kept at a bare minimum for this kind of CAS card. After all, cool guys really don't dig you going overboard with embellishments. This patterned paper looked so good with the navy cardstock, and the only other thing needed were a few gray flat-back pearls.

I decorated the inside with a scrap of the patterned paper used on the front which I layered on the navy cardstock. The front and inside sentiments are from a relatively new stamp set that went perfectly with this image. :D

Proud to enter this card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White and In The Navy cardstock, GKD Pool Side 6x6 patterned paper
  • Stamps: KennyK Stamps Frankie Knuckles digi, Paper Smooches Word Salad and Incognito stamp sets
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir- IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6, IG7, FS2, FS3, LY3, CG4, TB1; Black Copic Multi-Liner pen
  • Accessories: MISTI, Doodlebug Design flat-back pearls

I hope you've enjoyed this project and have found a little inspiration to create something for our Anything Goes challenge this time! We know you love that theme! And be sure to check out all the fun goodies at Toadstool PrintablesLacy Sunshine and KennyK Stamps! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Many thanks (Set of 4 note cards)

Hey there, crafty friends! This is my last post this morning, I promise! I've been working my crafty little fingers to the bone getting all my design team projects complete and ready to post. OMG, I've had a BLAST! I sure do love our hobby, lol! It's time for another awesome challenge over at House of Cards and I'm proud to share my inspiration project for Use Twine and/or Colors.

Wow, is that not a gorgeous inspiration photo?! Love, love, love all those colors plus the twine, lol! I used the colors and neutral twine on my set of CAS thank you note cards which I'm proud to say were created entirely from scraps except for the card bases.

The floral images were cut from scraps of digital paper left over from a project I created several months ago which I layered onto scraps of yellow and purple cardstock. Occasionally those hoarded scraps do come in handy (wink-wink)! The stamped sentiment is from WPlus9. The only other elements are the twine and rhinestones.

Here is another one with a slightly different image. There are are two like the one above and two like this one. I left the insides blank since they are note cards. I'm really pleased with how these turned out - sometimes the simplest cards pack the biggest punch! ;)

So happy to enter this set of thank you cards into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla cardstock, Stampin' Up! Delightful Dijon and Blackberry Bliss cardstock scraps, Blossom Paper Art Vintage Roses digital paper scraps
  • Stamps: WPlus9 Hand Lettered Thanks stamp set
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Accessories: Stampin' Up! Rhinestones

I hope you've enjoyed this project and have found a little inspiration to create a project using twine and/or the colors in the inspiration photo! What a fun challenge this month! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Whew, I'm out of breath, lol! I created a fun new baby card using the 'Waiting For Wonder' digi from Little Blue Button Stamps. I just love this image and she was so much fun to color!

I used some gorgeous coordinating GKD patterned paper and cardstock for the background. I paired the digital image with a fun clear stamp set from Paper Pretties which has sadly gone out of business. My signature bow includes some looped twine behind it and a pretty gemstone in the center. The only other embellies are white flat-back pearls.

I decorated the inside with a layered strip of patterned paper used on the front. The inside sentiment is from the same Paper Pretties stamp set. The panel is layered on the red and black cardstock.

Proud to enter this new baby card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Spectrum Noir Ultra Premium White cardstock, GKD Red Hot and Black Onyx cardstock, GKD Poppy Prints 6x6 patterned paper

We're being sponsored by Imagine That! digis by Kris, SheepSki Designs and SLS Lines, so come on over and play with us!

I chose the absolutely gorgeous Art Nouveau with Flowers digital image from SLS Lines. I thoroughly enjoyed coloring this image! In keeping with the 'use two of something' theme for this challenge, I used two patterned papers and two groups of three clear rhinestones.

I'm so happy with how this turned out. I'm in love with these patterned papers and cardstocks as they go so well together. I also used several die cuts, added my signature bow and lots of bling. The front and inside sentiments are from a well loved stamp set. ;)

Here's a peek at the inside which I decorated with a leftover scrap of patterned paper and cardstock used on the front.

Bloom where you are planted

Hi everyone! Wow, oh wow, I've been busy as a bee! You'll be seeing several posts from me today - have a lot going on with projects on several DTs posting today! It's time for another fun challenge over at Love to Scrap Challenge Blog and I'm happy to share one of two DT inspiration projects for LTSCB #83 - Take Two! We're being sponsored by Imagine That! digis by Kris, SheepSki Designs and SLS Lines, so come on over and play with us!

I chose the absolutely adorable 'Bloom where you are planted' image set from Imagine That! digis by Kris to create my somewhat CAS birthday card. In keeping with our 'use two of something' theme, I used two papers and two colors of Crystal Drops. What a fun challenge!

Isn't this image just the cutest ever?! I printed the image and sentiments on heavy vellum and sprinkled clear embossing powder on them while still wet. Have to be careful embossing on vellum, letting the heat tool get hot before hitting the paper. And of course, I added my signature multi-loop bow with several loops of silver thread behind it, along with pink and green Crystal Drops. I'm r-e-a-l-l-y loving the Crystal Drops! OMG!

Here's a peek at the inside which features the embossed birthday greeting and several layers of the vellum and light gray cardstock.

Proud to enter this birthday card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Stampin' Up! Basic Gray cardstock, Marco's 40# vellum
  • Stamps: Imagine That! digis by Kris 'Bloom where you are planted' digi set
  • Accessories: Ranger clear embossing powder, Fiskars corner rounder, Prairie Bird Boutique pink wrinkled ribbon, silver thread, Apple Green and Carnation Pink Crystal Drops, Studio 112 clear gemstones

I hope you've enjoyed today's project and will consider creating a project using two of something for our challenge this time! Be sure to visit Imagine That! digis by Kris, SheepSki Designs and SLS Lines to check out all the fun digis! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you again soon! ;)

Life's better on the beach...

** 8/5/16 Top 3 at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge! **

Hi everyone! Happy first day of August! I hope you have an amazing week coming up! It's time for another fun challenge over at My Crafting Stories and I'm happy to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #8 - Anything Goes with Red and White. We're being sponsored by Angie's Digital Stamps so come on over and play!

I chose the adorable 'At The Beach' digi for my beach card. I do not consider myself an artist but have to admit I had fun creating this scene! And it just so happens that I bought the awesome beach sentiment stamp a month or so ago... perfect timing, lol!

I created the sand, sky and water with Spectrum Noir markers, then added the fussy-cut image, cloud die cuts and hand-drawn birds. In keeping with the challenge theme of a red and white color combo, I added a red heart die cut, a red multi-loop bow and red Gumdrops, and layered the panel on red cardstock.

I kept the inside relatively simple with another stamped sentiment, and layered the panel on more of the red cardstock.

Proud to enter this summer card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White and Red Hot cardstock
  • Stamps: Angie's Digital Stamps 'At The Beach' digital image, Great Impressions 'Life's Better' and 'Summer Days' rubber stamps
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir- IG1, IG2, IG4, IG5, IG6, BG1, CR8, CR11, TB1, TB3, TB4; White Sakura Gelly Roll pen, Copic Black Multi-Liner pen
  • Dies/Punches: Paper Smooches Cosmos Icons dies
  • Accessories: Clear Wink of Stella, YNS red Gumdrops, MISTI

I hope you've enjoyed today's project and are inspired to create a project using red and white! And be sure to check out all the fun digis at Angie's Digital Stamps! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

I sent this card to a dear friend who is a beach fanatic, so it is not for sale at Hippie Chick Designs, but be sure to check out the other ones in my store!
Scrappy hugs,
Leslie
