Reach For The Stars

Hi everyone! Happy 4th of July if you're in the States and celebrating Independence Day! Can't believe this holiday is already here... now the rest of the year will literally fly by! HA - as if the first half hasn't already! It's time for another fun challenge Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I'm happy to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #81 - Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! We're being sponsored this time by The Paper ShelterAll Dressed Up Stamps and Little Blue Button Stamps! Come on over and play - we want to see a project with at least one star on it! And we have some great news to share - we're increasing the number of allowed entries from three to five per challenge! Woot-woot! That means more chances to win!

I chose the absolutely adorable 'Rag Doll Sweetheart Stars Watching' digi from Little Blue Button Stamps for my card. I was actually thinking graduation when I started it, but this card really could be used for any milestone event. I had such a good time putting it all together. I inked the background piece with distress inks, then dropped several plain water splatters from my fingers along with smaller splatters of watered-down walnut stain distress ink from a brush. I inked all the elements with chalk ink.

I cut a portion of the rag doll's skirt and feet and slid several layers of grass under her. I added several stars, some crochet lace and a 'phat' orange bow. ;)

For the inside, I inked edges with the chalk ink and adhered some leftover strips of the inked background used on the front, along with a couple glitter stars and a stamped sentiment.

Proud to enter this card into the following challenges:

  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury Ivory and Dark Chocolate cardstock
  • Stamps: Little Blue Button Stamps Rag Doll Sweetheart Stars Watching digital image, Leave Memories With One Stamp
  • Ink: Ranger distress ink- Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge, Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint and Walnut stain; Invild Bolme Knotted Wood chalk ink, Spectrum Noir- FS2, FS3, FS4, TN2, TN6, TN9, GB8, GB10
  • Dies/Punches: Precious Marieke Grass Border die
  • Accessories: Stampin' Up! star punch, MISTI, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Label Letters, WOC crochet lace, orange grosgrain bow, Doodlebug Design mini pearls

I hope you've enjoyed this project and found a little inspiration to create a project for our 'star' challenge this time! And be sure to check out all the fun goodies at The Paper ShelterAll Dressed Up Stamps and Little Blue Button Stamps! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
Scrappy hugs,
