Happy Holidays with Santa

Hi everyone! As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, I'm a Step Sister with The Sisterhood of Crafters this month, and I'm proud to share my inspiration project for the Santa Claus Is Coming To Town challenge! Come play with us! All you gotta do is use a Santa on your project! ;)

I picked out a couple Unity stamps from my stash and went to town myself. Feels rather good getting into the Christmas spirit and having another card done ahead of time! ;)

I cut the card base and insert from textured cardstock and the layered components from various Christmas papers, all with my silhouette. The Santa bingo card is a Unity stamp that I embellished with a Santa postage stamp from my stash. I added some gorgeous flowers and flourish die cut, along with a gold metal snowflake charm and a couple gold Candi Minis.

I gold-embossed the ornaments and Hapy Holidays sentiment on the insert, and brought the ornaments to life with some Copics.

And here's a shot of the set. I really like how this turned out! ;)

Proud to enter this holiday card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • DCWV brown textured cardstock; DCWV dark green textured cardstock scrap; GKD Pure Luxury Ivory and Cranberry Tart cardstock scraps
  • The Paper Studio Old World Winter 6x6 papers; burlap print paper (very old, from stash)

  • Unity Santa Bingo stamp
  • Happy Holidays from the Unity Tags Glorious Tags stamp set

Happy Holidays

Hi everyone! Hope the weather isn't too bad where you are. We've had a good deal of rain here in north Florida. The hubster and I got away to St. Augustine for several days to enter his Corvette into a car show. We had a great time at the car show, did some sight-seeing and ate lots of good food. It was overcast the entire time we were there and then started raining on the way home, and has continued to rain and storm since we got home. And guess what that means... no internet and a lot of frustration. ;)

I'm a day late but happy nonetheless to share (finally) my Crafty Cardmakers and more project for CCM #128 - Distress It, sponsored by Di's Digistamps and Woodware Craft Collection. This challenge is being hosted by our teammate and blog owner, Lin, who would like to see lots of distressing on your project - not with distress inks but distressed edges, frantage or anything shabby!

I used stamps from the Gina K Designs Winter Cheer stamp set, along with papers from the GKD Winter Cheer and Cold Snap 6x6 patterned paper packs for my holiday card.

I used the Tim Holtz distressing tool on all the edges of the layered background and center panels. I also stitched the background and center panels with my cute lil' mini sewing machine! ;)

Isn't this little penguin just the cutest?! I popped him onto a background of shimmering winter trees with a snowflake brad on a pretty lacy square die cut. I used bridal embossing tinsel to emboss the trees, and they turned out g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s. And I just love that red stitched ribbon bow... you know how I love bows!

I stamped a classic holiday sentiment on a Spellbinders grommet tag die cut.

In keeping with the shabby aspect of this distressed project, I stamped off the inside sentiment twice without re-inking in a staggered fashion using a Unity stamp from the Tags Glorious Tags stamp set.

I'd love to enter this holiday card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury White and Red Hot cardstock
  • GKD Winter Cheer and Cold Snap 6x6 patterned papers
  • GKD Winter Cheer stamp set
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Copics: R27/89
  • Tim Holtz distressing tool
  • Versamarker pen
  • Ranger Sticky embossing powder
  • Recollections white flock
  • Spellbinders Lacy Squares and Grommet Tags dies
  • Versamark
  • Ranger Bridal Embossing Tinsel
  • GKD red stitched gross grain ribbon
  • Inside sentiment from Unity Tags Glorious Tags stamp set
  • Memento Lady Bug ink
  • YNS red glitter Gumdrops
  • White flat-back pearls

I hope you're inspired to create a distressed project for our challenge this time - not with distress inks but with distressed edges, frantage or anything shabby! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Leslie

I Miss You So Much

Hi everyone! I'm happy to share my Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB #42 - Say It In Color! We're being sponsored by the wonderful Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet and SweetStamps! Come play with us! We want to see your sentiment stamped, printed or die cut in a color other than black and white! Another easy and fun challenge! ;)

I used a stamp from SweetStamps Fanciful Butterflies set along with some gorgeous and very vibrant double-sided papers for my swing card. This was so much fun - I used the Sizzix Regal Flip-Its die set. It's another one of those sets with an amazing 10 dies in it! Love, love, love!

I stamped the butterfly on 40# vellum in Versamark and heat embossed it with SweetStamps white embossing powder. I then colored the back side with three of the colors in the papers - orange, purple and pink. I also added some gold wire antennae.

After layering some pretty die cuts created with other dies in this set, I stamped the sentiment on both sides of the swing mechanism in Memento Grape Jelly ink. I added some of my new fav Twinkle Goosebumps gemstones (in orange) in the upper left corner.

I didn't use many embellishments on this card at all... I thought they'd get lost in this vibrant paper! LOL! I did add some red Dot Sparklers down the right side on a pretty border die cut created with another die in this set, along with some gorgeous gold cording. That's it!

Proud to enter my 'missing you' card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Wild Lilac cardstock
  • K & Co. Que Sera Sera double-sided paper
  • Sizzix Regal Flip-Its die set
  • Butterfly from the SweetStamps Fanciful Butterflies stamp set
  • Versamark
  • SweetStamps white fine detail embossing powder
  • Copics: YR18, R85, BV08
  • Sentiment from the GKD Let's Talk stamp set
  • Memento Grape Jelly ink
  • MISTI
  • Stampendous Red Dot Sparklers
  • GKD gold cording
  • Orange Queen & Co. Twinkle Goosebumps gemstones

I really do hope you've found a little inspiration to create a project and play in our Say It In Color challenge this time! And be sure to check out all the wonderful digis in the Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet and all the stamps and other crafting goodies at SweetStamps! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Winter Wishes

Hello, my crafty friends! I have a bit of good news to share - I'm guest designing for Scrapping4fun Challenges again! I scored this gig a few weeks back when one of my cards was chosen as a Featured Creation. I'm happy to share my inspiration project for Challenge #30 - Anything Goes with Bling which is a Christmas card - one of only a few I've made so far. I'm still shaking my head at how fast this year has gone by!

The stamped images and papers I used on this project are from the newest StampTV kit which I absolutely love! I matted the background and layered/stamped pieces on Cherry Red cardstock.

I stamped the mittens in red ink, and cut it with a SB die. I have a treasure trove (bin) of Christmas embellishments that I only use once a year, and in it was the cutest little winter hat that I just had to add to the focal image! In keeping with the bling part of the theme, I affixed a white pearl to the hat, some red gemstones in the upper right corner and used some gorgeous gold GKD ribbon with a tiny jingle bell hanging from the triple-loop bow.

I stamped the front sentiment on a sponged SB ribbon banner die cut and added a pretty wood snowflake charm with a gemstone in the center. I also added some tiny red gemstones to the lower right corner. Had to have some more bling! ;)

I kept the inside simple with just a stamped holiday sentiment.

I'd love to enter this card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury White and Cherry Red cardstock
  • GKD Winter Cheer 6x6 patterned paper
  • GKD Christmas Wishes stamp set
  • GKD Fabulous Holiday Fillers stamp set
  • Memento Teal Zeal ink
  • VersaMagic Red Magic ink
  • Spellbinders Ribbon Banners die
  • GKD gold ribbon; tiny jingle bell
  • 1/4" Scor-Tape
  • Red winter hat metal embellishment
  • Red gemstones and white flat-back pearl

I hope you've found some inspiration to join us for our Anything Goes with Bling challenge this time! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Thanks

** 11/21/14 Top Pick at Fussy and Fancy Challenge Blog! **

Hi everyone! I'm super stoked to announce that I'm a Step Sister! Yep, a Step Sister with The Sisterhood of Crafters for the month of November! And I'm equally as stoked to showcase my first Sisterhood inspiration project for the Thank-ful challenge. Come play with us! We want to see the word "Thank" on your project (Thank You, Thanks, Thankful, Giving Thanks, With Thanks, etc.)

I used a GKD stamp and sentiment for my Thanks card, paired with some absolutely gorgeous (GOR-JUSS) fall/autumn leaves paper that I've had in my stash forever. It was the last piece and I'm sure glad I saved it. I'm an admitted paper hoarder... always feeling like I shouldn't use the last of a pretty piece because I just may need it at a later date. Are any of you like that?! Teeheehee!

The background, focal image and vertical fish-tail flags were all matted on brown cardstock. The flourish die cut was cut from the brown cardstock and I used coordinating brown grossgrain ribbon. The Thanks banner die cut was also cut from the brown cardstock, and that die was a freebie in my last TE order. Love that! And lastly, I used red Gumdrops for a little pop of color.

I layered two scraps of the red paper (used for the fish-tail flags on the front) matted on the brown cardstock on the inside, with the sentiment stamped on the smaller piece.

So proud to enter my 'Thanks' card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury  Ivory and Dark Chocolate cardstock
  • Autumn/fall leaves paper from stash; scraps of red solid and red patterned papers from stash
  • GKD Harvest of Wishes stamp set
  • Memento Rich Cocoa and Tuxedo Black ink
  • Copics: YR01/04/09/14, C1, YG11/63/67, Y17, E37
  • Magnolia Doohickey Swirl die
  • Taylored Expressions Thanks banner die
  • GKD Dark Chocolate grossgrain ribbon
  • YNS Gumdrops

I sure hope you've been inspired to create a project for our Thank-ful challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

CAS thanks

Hello again, my crafty friends! When I told you that my mojo has shot up into super-charge mode, I wasn't lying! Bwahaha! While I had the new chevrons die out, I created a CAS thanks card. What better time than just before Thanksgiving, right?! I angled a few of the lines... I like how this took shape.

After cutting the chevrons into the front panel and backing the apertures with a scrap of some gorgeous Autumn/Fall-themed double-sided paper, I matted it on Tomato Soup cardstock and popped it up on the card base with dimensional foam pads.

Love the gold cording - this stuff looks good on anything! ;) The 'thanks' sentiment on the front is from one of my favorite stamp sets, stamped in Morocco ink.

I kept the inside simple. This sentiment is so awesome and really speaks from the heart!

I'd love to enter this 'thanks' card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury Ivory and Tomato Soup cardstock
  • Bo Bunny Autumn Song double-sided paper (scrap)
  • Paper Smooches Simply Said stamp set
  • GKD Fabulous Holiday Fillers
  • Memento Morocco ink
  • MISTI
  • YNS Chevrons die
  • GKD gold cording

That's it from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by - we'll see you next time! ;)
Hugs,
Leslie

all the best

Hello, crafty friends! Seems my mojo has shot into super-charge mode over the last couple days since getting over the flu! I'm certainly not complaining, though! ;) I'm happy to share a CAS wedding card for a friend at work who has a niece in her 40s getting married for the first time. She mentioned her niece is of Native American descent, so my feather stamp spoke to me, and I just got a chevrons die and some gorgeous teal glittered gumdrops that I've been wanting to use, so it didn't take long for my card idea to take shape. :)

My cards typically have many layers so this is very unusual for me, but I'm in love with it! The CAS design with white feathers and teal paper with teal elements really look great together.

I stamped the feather in Versamark and embossed it with white fine detail embossing powder, then sponged some grey ink on it, then repeated the process for the second feather. I embellished the feathers with a double loop teal bow accented with two teal cube beads. I stamped the sentiment beneath the feathers in teal ink and added three glittered gumdrops in the top right corner.

On the inside, I stamped a feather in the grey ink and the sentiment in the teal ink. I hope she likes this as much as I do! ;)

I would love to enter this wedding card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury White and Navy cardstock
  • Cricut Tags, Bags and Boxes patterned paper; white vellum
  • GKD Stamper's Favorites stamp set with Silhouette cut file
  • Versamark
  • SweetStamps white fine detail embossing powder
  • Memento London Fog ink
  • Sentiment from the GKD Heartfelt Hits stamp set
  • Memento Teal Zeal ink
  • MISTI
  • Teal twine; teal cube beads
  • YNS Chevrons die
  • Caribbean Punch glittered gumdrops

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

happy holidays... rockin' and shakin' with Rudolph!

*** Top 3 Pick at Pile It On! ***

Hi everyone! I'm so happy to share the cutest (and I mean c.u.t.e.s.t.) Christmas card I think I've ever made! I had the absolute best time creating this one - it's a rocking card with a shaker! And it's not even a design team project... this one is strictly for play! There are always so many fun Winter/Christmas type challenges going on this time of year - I'm sure I can find a few to play in!

I chose some great plaid Christmas paper along with some pretty die cuts and flourishes. I've got a ton of Christmas brads and eyelets that (yep...) I only get to pull out of this bin once a year! The snowflake brads are the newest in my stash.

Isn't this little Rudolph just the cutest?! This YNS stamp set is just amazing and I see several more of these snow globe shakers in my (near) future! They are so easy and so much fun! I've even got the pieces and parts cut already! ;)

I created a little forest of Christmas trees on the left side.

I added a couple candy canes on the right side.

And here's a peek at the inside. This one is for my granddaughter. :)

So proud to enter my rocking shaker card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD White, Cherry Red and Fresh Asparagus cardstock; scrap of GKD Christmas pine cardstock; Heartfelt Creations clear cardstock; The Paper Cut White/Gold Metallic cardstock
  • The Paper Studio Old World Winter 6x6 paper
  • Silhouette rocking card cut file
  • Your Next Stamp Snow Globe stamp set
  • Copics: C5/7, YG61/63/67, R27, E33/39/99

  • Really Reasonable Ribbon white cotton lace
  • Sakura Stardust pen
  • GKD snowflake eyelets
  • Christmas tree and candy cane brads, and Christmas tree eyelet from stash
  • Tiny white flat-back pearls

Well, it seems the hustle and bustle has begun... we're gearing up for Christmas, as that jolly little man in the red suit will be here in no time, whether we're ready or not! It is truly a beautiful time of year! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Thinking of You

** 11/29/14 Winner at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges! **
** 11/29/14 DT Favorite at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges! **

Hi everyone! We're headed into another awesome challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and more, and I'm stoked to share my DT inspiration project for CCM #127 - A Touch of Charm. Come play with us! Josephine is hosting this challenge and she says just add a charm to your project! Another fun and simple challenge!

I chose the beautiful Bluebird stamp set by Artistic Outpost to create this 'Thinking of You" card. I used some blue and cream colored double-sided paper, matted on dark chocolate cardstock. I dug through my stash of eyelets and chose two round brass and one square brass to place in the upper right corner. I thought the two shapes used together looked very cool with the overall design.

I stamped the focal image on Almost Leather by Commotion. This is some pretty amazing stuff! ;)

I added some gorgeous ivory crocheted cotton lace along the bottom of the layered strip of blue paper, and stamped a row of birds beneath it.

I added a big multi-looped bow and popped a flower charm in the center of it. I love my Bow It All and it seems that big bows are rapidly becoming a signature trademark on my cards! LOL!

I stamped the sentiment beneath a group of birds on the inside. I've had this stamp set for several years and had never used it. I'm so glad I pulled it out for this project. I absolutely love it! :)

Proud to enter this card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury Ivory and Dark Chocolate cardstock
  • K & Co. Blue Awning double-sided papers
  • Artistic Outpost Bluebird stamp set
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink

  • Wild Orchid Crafts ivory cotton lace
  • Round & square eyes from stash

Throwback Thursday Challenge #4 - Butterfly Sandal

Hi everyone! I'm here today to post a past project for the Artsy-Craftsy Throwback Thursday TBT Challenge #4 over at Stamping with Bibiana that launched this morning!

stampingh with bibiana

I'm really happy to start playing in Bibiana's TBT challenges because I have lots of past projects I'd love to share. I've been in bed since Monday with a confirmed case of the flu, started the Tamiflu yesterday, and actually felt human enough to visit blogland today to see what's going on. I have felt so out of touch! :)

Those who know me know that I have a  major shoe fetish and I absolutely love creating paper shoes! I couldn't think of a better project to share than the butterfly sandal I created back in January 2013 that I fell madly in love with! It was one of several flip flops I made with stamped/embossed foot beds and straps and my own flip flop template. What fun!

Here are a couple of photos to get you going. I won't go into all the details here... you're cordially invited to check out my original blog post HERE. And don't laugh at my early blogging! I think I've improved a little! ;)

Come join in the fun and check out the Artsy-Craftsy Throwback Thursday TBT Challenge #4 over at Stamping with Bibiana - she's got some pretty awesome prizes lined up! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
